The location of the Campo della Donna, near the village of Lajatico, is amazingly convenient. While situated in the Tuscan countryside, surrounded by hills and fields as far as the eye can see, it remains at the crossroads of many cultural points of interest. It is 45 minutes away from the Pisa International airport, a little over an hour from Florence and Sienna, 30 minutes from San Gimignano, 20 minutes from the Etruscan city of Volterra, and an hour from the sea. Among the many regional spas, you can find one of the oldest in Europe, Montecatini terme, only a little over an hour drive away.
If you don't feel like driving, the region offers very enjoyable local sightseeing, such as breathtaking walks that will take you through the countryside and well-preserved villages. Lajatico itself is the birthplace of the world renowned opera and popular music singer, Andrea Boccelli.
Since 2006, he has launched there an annual open-air festival, Il Teatro del Silenzio, overlooking the sea of hills. Moreover, the area offers a wide variety of amenities such as restaurants, cafes, wineries, a tennis court, local shopping, etc.
